Is the installation really Plug & Play? Does the dashboard need to be adjusted?
Yes, both systems are genuine Plug & Play solutions for the B-Class W245 (2005–2011) and Vito/Viano W639 (from 2006 onwards). The included trim frame, CAN-Bus decoder and all necessary cables (including fish tape and panel removal tools) make installation straightforward – no cutting or shortening of any wiring harnesses is required. Most users on motor-talk.de complete the DIY installation in 1–2 hours. On the 10.1-inch version (MB10V), the screen can be rotated and slid (up to 50° / 66 mm).
How well do Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto perform?
Fast and stable (Bluetooth + Wi-Fi) with automatic connection when you get in the vehicle. Split-screen display and mirroring are fully supported. Most B-Class and Vito drivers use Wireless CarPlay almost exclusively and are very satisfied with the performance.
Where is the microphone located and how is the hands-free call quality?
Digital noise-cancelling microphones are supplied and are discreetly installed in the dashboard area. Call quality remains very good even at higher speeds or with the sunroof open.
How well do the Auto-Dimmer and HUD work?
The automatic brightness control works reliably. The 1.4-inch HUD projects navigation (including from CarPlay), vehicle speed and blitzer.de speed camera warnings directly into the driver’s line of sight – a real added value for everyday driving.
How do firmware updates and the cold start work?
Firmware and map updates (3-year or 7-year package) are very easy to perform via USB stick on flex.dynavin.com. After the vehicle has been stationary for a longer period (> 48 h), a full cold start takes 1–2 minutes – this is normal power-saving behaviour. The system then boots in approximately 3 seconds.
How is the DAB+ reception and overall sound quality?
The system comes with a high-quality DAB antenna and switches seamlessly to FM if the digital signal weakens. Thanks to the DSP, 16-band EQ and time alignment, the sound is noticeably better than the original radio. A signal booster can help in areas with weak reception (e.g. in cities).
How long is the warranty and what is the support like in case of problems?
