Is the installation really Plug & Play?
Yes, the D9-CLK Premium is a genuine Plug & Play solution specially developed for the Mercedes CLK W209 (2005–2009). The included CLK-specific trim frame fits millimetre-perfect into the narrow centre console. With the CAN-Bus integrator, fish tape and panel removal tools, only the original radio needs to be removed and the plugs connected – no cutting or shortening of any cables. Most users complete the DIY installation in 1–2 hours. Even on the Cabriolet, the installation is particularly clean and leaves no visible traces.
How well do Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto perform?
Fast and extremely stable (Bluetooth + Wi-Fi) with automatic connection as soon as you get in the vehicle. Split-screen display and mirroring are fully supported. Especially with the sporty driving style of the CLK, most owners particularly appreciate Wireless CarPlay – the connection remains reliable even at high speeds or with the top down. How good is the hands-free call quality on the Cabriolet with the top down?
Very good! Two digital noise-cancelling microphones are supplied and are discreetly installed in the dashboard area. CLK Cabriolet drivers confirm on motor-talk.de and clk.info that voice quality remains surprisingly clear even at higher speeds and with the roof open – noticeably better than many other aftermarket systems.
How is the DAB+ reception and sound quality?
The system comes with a high-quality DAB antenna and switches seamlessly to FM if the digital signal weakens. Thanks to the DSP, 16-band EQ and time alignment, the sound is noticeably better than the original radio. A signal booster helps in areas with weak reception (e.g. in cities).
How do firmware updates and the cold start work?
Firmware and map updates (3-year or 7-year package) are very easy to perform via USB stick on flex.dynavin.com. After the vehicle has been stationary for a longer period (> 48 h), a full cold start takes 1–2 minutes – this is normal power-saving behaviour. The system then boots in approximately 3 seconds.
How long is the warranty and what is the support like in case of problems?
All Dynavin devices come with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. If you encounter any issues, you can submit a ticket at any time through our Support Center to receive fast and competent assistance from the Dynavin team.
